Earning Renown
⚔️ Combat
Defeat enemies to earn renown based on their level. Higher level enemies award more renown.
📜 Quests
Complete quests to earn 10-50 renown per completion, depending on quest difficulty.
🗺️ Exploration
Discover all rooms in an area to receive renown rewards for your exploration.
Renown Bonuses
- Damage Bonus: +1% per 1,000 renown (max 20% at 20,000)
- Damage Reduction: +1% per 1,000 renown (max 20% at 20,000)
- Experience Bonus: +1% per 500 renown (max 20% at 10,000)
- Quest Discounts: -1% cost per 1,000 renown (max 20% at 20,000)

📜 The Quest System
Death Rising features a comprehensive quest system with questmasters throughout the world. Complete missions for valuable rewards including quest points, gold, renown, and special items.

Hunt down and slay a specific monster

Quest Equipment
⚔️ Equipment That Levels With You!
Quest equipment is special gear purchased with Quest Points that scales in power with your character level and Ancient level. As you grow stronger, so does your quest equipment!

- Stats increase as you level up

🌀 Rifts & Procedural Dungeons
Rifts are unstable tears in reality that appear randomly throughout the realm, spawning procedurally generated dungeons filled with danger and treasure!
🌀 How Rifts Work
- Random Spawning: Rifts appear randomly near areas matching their power level
- Scaling Challenge: Difficulty adjusts to provide appropriate challenges
- Boss Encounters: A powerful boss eventually emerges from each rift
- Temporary: Rifts will close on their own after some time
- Global Announcements: All players are notified when rifts appear
Procedural Loot
Enemies in rifts drop procedurally generated loot - unique items with randomized stats and properties. No two drops are exactly alike!
Rift Masters
Rift Masters are mysterious figures who have studied the void and understand its dangers. Seek them out to receive rift quests!
🎯 Accept a Quest
Find a Rift Master and use rift accept to receive a quest to hunt a specific rift boss.
⚔️ Slay the Boss
Enter the rift dungeon and defeat the designated boss enemy.
🏆 Claim Rewards
Return to any Rift Master and use rift complete to claim Void Shards and other rewards!

Void Shards & Void Points
💎 Void Shards
Completing rift quests earns you Void Shards - crystallized void energy that can be converted to Void Points for cosmetic purchases.
- Use the
exploitcommand to convert shards to Void Points (VP) - Void Points accumulate permanently on your character
- Rift quest cooldown: 60-90 minutes between quests
Void Shop
Spend your hard-earned Void Points on cosmetic enhancements using the voidshop command!
🎨 Name Colors
Change how your name appears to others - red, blue, green, gold, and more! (50-100 VP)
🚪 Entry Messages
Custom messages when you enter a room - materialize from void, emerge from shadows, etc. (100 VP)
🚶 Exit Messages
Custom messages when you leave - dissolve into void, melt into shadows, etc. (100 VP)

Replace your level/class in the who list with a custom title! (200 VP)

Mysterious traveling merchants wander the roads of Death Rising, carrying unique inventories that cannot be found anywhere else in the world!
🗺️ Finding Traders
Wandering Traders follow the main roads connecting towns and areas. They are constantly on the move, appearing in different locations each time.
💰 Unique Inventory
Each Wandering Trader carries completely unique items and services. Their stock refreshes periodically with new treasures.
🔮 Rare Finds
Traders carry rare equipment, consumables, and special items you won't find in regular shops!

Note: Wandering Traders are peaceful merchants and will not engage in combat.
🏃 Intelligent Auto-Run System
Lost in the world? The auto-run system uses intelligent pathfinding to guide you to any area in the game!
🧭 How It Works
Simply type run <area name> and your character will automatically navigate to the nearest entrance of that area, stopping at any blocked exits (closed doors, etc.).

- Smart Detection: Stops at closed doors, locked gates, and other obstacles

Mobs don't just auto-attack - they use intelligent combat decisions based on their class, health, and the situation:
AI Behavior Types
⚔️ Warrior AI
Uses combat stances, special attacks, and defensive abilities based on HP.
🔮 Mage AI
Casts appropriate spells, manages distance, uses shields when hurt.
✨ Cleric AI
Heals allies, dispels debuffs, smites enemies with divine power.
🗡️ Thief AI
Uses stealth, backstab, and hit-and-run tactics.
🏹 Ranger AI
Maintains distance, uses traps and ranged attacks.
🌿 Druid AI
Uses nature magic, summons, and environmental effects.
🎵 Bard AI
Buffs allies, debuffs enemies with songs and performances.
🐾 Generic AI
Basic tactical decisions for non-classed enemies.
Survival Instincts
All mobs have survival AI that triggers at low health:
- Flee: Cowardly mobs will attempt to escape when hurt
- Defensive: Warriors switch to defensive postures
- Healing: Clerics and Druids prioritize self-healing
- Berserk: Some mobs become MORE dangerous when wounded!
⚔️ Tactical Postures
The AI system integrates with the 3-posture combat system. Mobs will switch between PRESS (aggressive), HOLD (balanced), and GUARD (defensive) postures based on battle conditions!
🎵 Bard Performance System
Death Rising features a complete musical performance system for Bards! Compose verses, wield instruments, and support your party with powerful magical songs.
🎼 Verses
Learn unique verses that form the building blocks of your performances. Each verse has different effects - buffs, debuffs, healing, and more!
🎸 Instruments
Different instruments modify your performances. Find and collect rare instruments that enhance your musical abilities.
🎶 Songs
Combine verses into powerful songs that affect your entire group. Time your performances for maximum impact in battle!
👥 Group Support
Bard performances can buff allies, debuff enemies, heal wounds, and even manipulate combat conditions!
